Over the course of season three, Glee has been affected by an evident lack of equality between same-sex and opposite-sex couples.

The GLEE EQUALITY PROJECT is one of multiple fan-made and fan-lead projects born to take effective action against this issue.

Please consider joining the GLEE EQUALITY PROJECT campaign by calling or writing a letter to Fox to express your disappointment towards the double standard and your concerns over the message it is spreading. My letter was already sent last friday to Fox by a GEP volunteer.

You can find anything you need to call or write on the GEP blog on Tumblr. Links below.

What makes me laugh is that they highlighted the double standards in an episode of Glee (when britana were called up for that peck on the lips) and yet do nothing about it! Here in England, gay guys make out on tv shows during the day. When people complain, know what the tv station says? Don't like, don't watch'.

I can't say much because here in Italy we don't even really talk about that, unless it's a joke or insults. The few politicians who address the matter of homophobia and double standards are not serious or are not taken seriously, and things proceed very slowly. As for TV, I don't watch any Italian TV shows but even though from what I gather there have been cases of lgbt characters, we certainly have nothing like Glee (that's why, uh, I watch Glee and not some Italian soap, I guess?)

However, yes they did talk of the double standard in that episode but I guess that must be the problem, that RIB and the other writers can do nothing to change things and probably Fox is pressuring them in some way or denying them specific themes and things they can do on the show. Everything would lead me to think so. I think that's way it has now been moved to 9 pm. It's still not right, though, even if they get to be free to show affection between partners of the same sex next year. I'm glad if they do and that's what I want, but the double standard IS in the fact that same-sex affection is thought to be inappropriate at 8 pm and opposite-sex affection is thought to be ok instead.

Sorry, long comment, but this really gets to my nerves.

Oh I know, it really bugs me
Oh you're Italian? Me too (but I live in england) Oh yes, I know exactly what you mean about homosexuality and Italian politics. My dad comes from a small town in Sicily where people think being gay is a disease. I can't express my anger at that

I understand. And it's sad. But come on, projects like this exist because we want to change things for the better ; )

Yeah, power to the cause! :glomp:
I'm so glad something like this is being organized. I really hope we can change season four.
